WordPress Cluster Solution for eCommerce

Auto Scaling WooCommerce Cluster Hosting

The perfect solution for WooCommerce store owners. If you thinking of setting up an online store, you may want to consider WooCommerce. It’s Open Souce, thoroughly documented, available on GitHub, endless stream of themes and plugins for WooCommerce, said to be awesome for SEO, extremely customisable and very powerful. The same principles that drive WordPress also powers WooCommerce, so if you already have WordPress with WooCommerce then choosing a WordPress Cluster to power your online store would be a wise choice. The benefit of automatic horizontal and vertical scaling provides peace of mind during seasonal promotions, example Black Friday, Christmas, Valentines Day, Mother and Fathers Day. Increased traffic to your online store during these times can place a tremendous load on your server, causing your web site to under-perform and this in turn can result in a slow loading web site costing you money, causing you to lose sales and drive customers away.

With our Auto Scaling WordPress Cluster solution, resources automatically scales up when it’s needed, and provides a pleasant online shopping experience for your customers. As soon as the load drops, scaling sets in and decreases the resource allocation. You will save a lot of money because you only pay for the actual usage.

Our WordPress Cluster solution is not only for WooCommerce stores, it’s ideal professional bloggers, WordPress multi-site owners and any business or individual running a WordPress website who needs or wants solid high performance 24/7/365 and 100% uptime.

WordPress Cluster Deployment with 1 Click

Deploying a WordPress Cluster application from the Marketplace is the quickest and easiest way to get started with hosting a Highly Available WordPress Cluster application on our Cloud Hosting Platform. You can deploy a WordPress Cluster with just 1 Click. WordPress cluster deployment and configuration is completely automated when you deploy from the Marketplace, your application servers, databases and WordPress is all automatically configured and installed for you. The Marketplace deployment method will provision and configure the following: Nginx Load Balancer, 2x Nginx AppServers, 2x mySQL databases, mounts additional storage and adds a Free WebWolf SSL Certificate to your environment.

From the Marketplace in your Dashboard, find the Clusters category and you will see WordPress Cluster, all that is then required of you is to click Install. You will then have the opportunity to name your environment and select your preferred hosting location, and our platform does the rest. You can sit back and relax until our email arrives with your login credentials. When the deployment process is complete, you will also receive an on-screen notification of your login credentials to WordPress so you can login straight away.

After your environment has been created and your WordPress Cluster has been deployed, you can then use the Topology wizard to fine tune the resources allocated to your application by adjusting vertical and horizontal scaling setup automatically, add the necessary IP addresses and bind your domain to the environment.

WordPress Cluster Environment

Automatic Horizontal and Vertical Scaling

In the video below, Auto Scaling WordPress cluster has been deployed and the auto scaling of CPU already activated for you.  We will show you how you adjust automatic horizontal scaling, monitor your application’s resource consumption and fine tune the settings according to the applications needs for optimal performance. Each node has a scaling limit of 8 Cloudlets. Each cloudlet consists of 128 MB of RAM and 400 MHz XEON CPU power simultaneously. That is equal to equal to 1 GB of RAM and 3.2 GHz of CPU. Smaller increments allow you to more accurately measure the resources your application uses. Load alerts are setup to notify you when the nodes are reaching their limits, giving you the time to make the necessary adjustments to RAM, CPU.

Automatic horizontal scaling can just as easily be setup on a single WordPress installation too. You simply activate it in the same manner as demonstrated in the video and opt to receive email alerts.

Now you know just how easy it is to deploy WordPress Cluster with Automatic Vertical and Horizontal Scaling on WebWolf’s Platform as a Service. WebWolf PaaS makes it extremely easy for anyone to get started. No complex configurations, saves you time and money and you will save on your IT costs because you will only pay for the resources your application actually uses, the actual usage and not the limits. Binding your Domain to the Environment

The next step is to bind your domain to the environment and you’ll need to add an A Record with your domain pointing to your IP. Click on Settings, as per the image below and you will immediately see the field into which you will add your domain name. Then simply click Bind.

Domain Binding

You will find your IP Address beneath your App Servers and your load balancer if you have added an IP to it, copy your IP and then go to your Domain Registrar, such as GoDaddy or Namecheap and add an A record with your domain pointing to your App or Load balancer’s IP address. Full documentation is provided on how to do this. If you have registered your domain through us, submit a support ticket and we will perform the necessary DNS entries for you. If you planning on using an external program like mySQL WorkBench, dbForge or Navicat to access your database, we recommend that you add an IP to your mySQL too. Note that you can attach up to 4 IP’s per node on a Full Account and 99 IP’s per environment.

How to Upload to and Manage Files in Root Folder

Accessing the Root folder to manage and edit your WordPress files, themes and plugins, or to upload or delete files is quite easy. Hover over the links at the Application Server, find the Config button and click.

Application Server - Config

Next, you will want to upload your WordPress theme to your themes folder and use Web SSH to unzip the file. If you have never used SSH, it’s not as complicated as you may think. I have used the Avada theme, it’s our personal favorite and use Avada as the framework to design Business and eCommerce websites for our customers.

Find the webroot folder and then the ROOT folder. You will see all your WordPress files and if you hover your mouse next to each file and click on the little gear icon, you’ll find several links that enable you to perform tasks.

How to access files in Root

After you have uploaded your theme to the themes folder, find and click on Web SSH button and after you’ve connected, you will need to navigate to the themes folder. To do this you must change the directory you currently in and we do this by typing cd at the command prompt followed by the path to the themes folder which is /var/www/webroot/ROOT/wp-content/themes, then press enter.

After you’ve entered the themes folder, at the command prompt type unzip Avada.zip. You’ll see all the files extracting and when it’s complete you can close the SSH screen. You more than likely will want to install your theme, so check your email again for the username and password, login to WordPress and install your theme. And that, is all there is to it.
